Students will learn:
- Write and share a short speech with a clear main idea and supporting details.
- Speak clearly and in order so others can understand their ideas.
- Change how they speak depending on the audience, using good posture, eye contact, and voice (volume, speed, and tone).
- Use information from books, videos, and other sources, and decide if it makes sense and is true.
- Listen to a speaker and tell what their main idea is and whether their reasons make sense.
- Plan, practice, and give a speech they wrote themselves, and make changes to improve it.
- Apply these skills in a real-world setting by participating in a competition that requires effective public speaking, critical thinking, and collaboration.
