Big Dream Academy’s STEAMS Education Hub – is an enrichment extension of our school, designed to inspire students through STEAMS (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math, and Speech & Debate). Our programs help students build confidence, achieve academic success, and prepare for national and international competitions. Part-Time Positions (Afternoon/evening/ & or Weekends)

Math Teacher
Hourly Rate: $25–$50
Depending on experience and qualifications
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Math Instructor to inspire and challenge students in grades 2–12. The ideal candidate excels in teaching advanced and higher-level math, making complex concepts both exciting and accessible. You will guide students in developing strong problem-solving skills, inspire a lasting passion for mathematics, and prepare them for success in local, national, and international math competitions.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master’s in Education preferred; current college students in a related major are welcome to apply)
* Minimum of 1 year teaching or working with students (higher education teaching experience preferred)
* Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Differential Equations, and Discrete Math
* Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning techniques
* Ability to manage behavior effectively within the classroom setting
* Experience in tutoring or mentoring students is highly desirable
* Passion for making math engaging, accessible, and challenging
* Strong interpersonal skills and dedication to student growth
* Experience with international math competitions (Math Kangaroo, MOEMS, AMC 8, AMC 10, AMC 10) is a plus
Responsibilities:
* Teach math to elementary, middle, or high school students in an engaging and interactive manner
* Collaborate with mentor teachers to plan and deliver lessons aligned with BDA’s STEAMS curriculum
* Create a safe, supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, curiosity, and growth
* Guide students in preparing for math competitions at various levels
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

Science Teacher
Hourly Rate: $25–$50
Depending on experience and qualifications
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Science Coach/Teacher to inspire and challenge students in grades 6–8. The ideal candidate excels in teaching advanced and higher-level science concepts, making complex topics both engaging and accessible. You will guide students in developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills, inspire a lasting passion for science, and prepare them for success in science competitions and research opportunities.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field (Master’s in Education preferred; current college students in a related major are welcome to apply)
* Minimum of 1 year teaching or working with students (higher education teaching experience preferred)
* Strong knowledge of scientific concepts, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, and STEM-related disciplines
* Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning techniques
* Ability to manage behavior effectively within the classroom or lab setting
* Experience in tutoring or mentoring students is highly desirable
* Passion for making science engaging, accessible, and challenging
* Strong interpersonal skills and dedication to student growth
* Experience with science competitions (Science Olympiad, JSHS, National Science Bee, or similar) is a plus
* Knowledge of laboratory safety and scientific research principles is a plus
Responsibilities:
* Teach and coach science to elementary, middle, or high school students in an engaging and interactive manner
* Collaborate with mentor teachers to plan and deliver lessons aligned with BDA’s STEAMS curriculum
* Create a safe, supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, curiosity, and growth
* Guide students in preparing for science competitions, fairs, and research projects
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

Center Manager
Hourly Rate: $18–$25
Depending on experience and qualifications
Position Overview:
We are seeking an organized, energetic, and passionate STEAMS Learning Center Manager to oversee daily operations of our enrichment programs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced learning environment, enjoys working with students of all ages, and ensures smooth coordination of STEAMS classes, labs, and activities. This role is key to creating a safe, engaging, and inspiring space where students can explore, create, and grow.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, or related field (current college students welcome)
* Minimum 1 year experience managing educational programs, student activities, or learning centers
* Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
* Experience coordinating staff, volunteers, or instructors
* Passion for STEAMS education and student development
* Knowledge of safety protocols in lab or hands-on learning environments
* Experience with curriculum planning, scheduling, and classroom management is a plus
Responsibilities:
* Open and close the STEAMS Learning Center for classes and events
* Prepare classrooms and materials for daily lessons and activities
* Organize and maintain the center, including cleaning and tidying after classes
* Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth program delivery
* Coordinate schedules, classes, and activities
* Supervise instructors, mentors, and volunteers, ensuring high-quality instruction
* Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment for students
* Assist in planning and supporting competitions, showcases, and special events
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
Schedule & Compensation
- Afternoons & evenings, Monday–Friday (3:00 PM–8:00 PM)
- Saturdays (8:30 AM–3:00 PM)
- Flexible, consistent weekly schedule (25–35 hours/week)
